Eee PC Arbeitsspeicher erweitern

Es gab ja vor ein par Wochen die Bedenken, Kunden dürften nicht den Arbeitsspeicher ihres Asus Eee erweitern, ohne einen Verlust der Herstellergarantie in Kauf zu nehmen. Die Angelegenheit hat sich mittlerweile ja in Wohlgefallen aufgelöst. Wer also den Arbeitsspeicher seines EeePC erweitern möchte, sieht in folgendem Video wie leicht das geht.

    Hi Jake,
    I’ve preordered a EeePC 4G at Amazon.de with 512MB of RAM. No 8G available in Germany during 2008. Delivery date for the 4G is approx. Feb.21st. I’m longing to see DHL at my door. Today I’ve noticed that Amazon is offering a 2GB as well as an 1 GB RAM module for the EeePC. I’m bare of computing skills in terms of technique and I’d like to know, whether it is OK to install a 2GB module into my 4G, thinking that RAM can’t be big enough. What I don’t know is, whether the EeePC 4G’s CPU can manage 2 GB or at least the EeePC 8G. I’d appreciate a short feedback or an additional comment on this blog. Thanks in advance.

    The eeePc only support 512MB and 1GB modules

    Technically, the eee could have 2 GB, but you would need to install a different OS.

    Since you say you’re not much of a technological expert, buying the 1 GB RAM will be the best solution for you. Also for me, I think I will stay with the default Xandros, it seems to be very fast and I like its usability from what I’ve seen from the screenshots so far.

    Also beware: You will probably get a German keyboard! But maybe you’re already used to that. I hope it will be possible to change the language of the OS to English, I always get confused by German system messages, etc.

    hey, ja jetzt habe ich mir doch ne 2Gb speicher gekauft, obwohl ich jetzt sehe, dass doch nur max. 1gb gehen und er laut test (SIW-Prog) nur 1gb läuft.
    vielleicht hat jemánd ne idee oder tip, Wie ICH DIE VOLLLEN 2 GB ausnutzen kann.

    hey ho.. ich halt gerad einen eee in den händen ..
    die version in grün mit 2gb hdd.
    jetzt stell ich fest das es keine abdeckung des ram gibt wie im video beschrieben.. wie komm ich dennoch an das kleine modul – zwecks austausch?
